IFIIE
The Institute for Teacher Training and Educational Research an Innovation (IFIIE) is a ministerial body depending upon the Directorate-General for vocational education and training of the Ministry of Education.
IFIIE’s primary objective is to improve the quality of teaching, in conjunction with other Ministry of Education bodies, other Education Administrations and other national and international organisations, governmental or otherwise. In this respect, they provide support to higher authorities and directives within the Ministry of Education by preparing studies and analyses of the overall education system and of the various topics that make up modern education (cultural education, women and education, health education, environmental education etc.). Specifically, their main responsibilities are:

The writing, publication and distribution of periodic studies, reports and dossiers on themes related to education in Spain and in the other countries in the European Union.

The coordination of the Spanish unit of Eurydice, the education information network in Europe.

The undertaking and evaluation of educational research, as well as the national and international distribution of the results.

The promotion of education research and innovation through the provision of annual National Prizes.

The participation in the Consortium of Institutions for Development and Research in Education in Europe (CIDREE) as a founding member and in the Andrés Bello Agreement as a signatory country.

The organisation of seminars and public presentations of training material, as well as the participation in national and international forums organised by various institutions (UNESCO, OECD, etc.).

The management of the Library and Archive of the Ministry of Education.

The training of research, innovation, documentation and IT specialists through the annual awarding of grants.
